Naturism

The following basic definition was established by the International Naturist Federation:
"Naturism (American "nudism") is a way of life in harmony with nature characterised by the practice of communal nudity, with the intention of encouraging self-respect, respect for others and for the environment".

Within the framework of this definition, the social practices of naturism may vary somewhat from country to country. The style in Denmark is to be nude at the beach, in the sun, in the sauna and in the swimming hall, but not in connection with indoor socialgatherings and indoor parties and so on where there is no water and no sun.
In addition, you are expected to take care of the nature. In small terms, that begins with not littering our beautiful country in any way.

The Danish style of naturism does not ban smoking or alcohol, but you are expected to show consideration and not bother other people in your neigbourhood. You should also be aware of the Danish laws regarding smoking, which is generally forbidden in public areas indoors. Drugs and narcotics are generally absolutely forbidden in Denmark, and definitely not compatible with naturism.
And last, but not least: Always sit on a towel - in the sauna,on the chair, and on the ground.
According to Danish law, public nudity is not forbidden. Offending, indecent behaviour can however be prosecuted. Local police regulations may state that public nudity is allowed only at designated places.

Denmark has 7000 km coastline and nudity is only forbidden on very few kilometres of our coastline.
But please have consideration for people that do not like nudity as much as the naturists do. Don't force
yourself upon people that are already there, and let arriving people get a chance to notice you so they can
move somewhere else if they don't like your nudity.
